Yield guide
Residual oil in the cake tells the truth about a sesame press. Factory sesame hot line: drum/wok roaster ~100 kg/batch → 3 × 325 hydraulic presses. Sesame is fine-seed — use ~30 kg/batch with 6 partitions (not the 100 kg peanut barrel load). Pre-press 5-10 min + main 20-30 min = 25- Factory reference points: ~≤5% general, 6-8% peanut hot, 55-58% sesame.
The math
Weigh seed in, weigh oil out, and lab-check cake residual. If sesame feed holds 40% oil and cake retains 8%, press yield is roughly 32 points plus what filtration returns from foots. Comparing machines by claimed "yield %" without stating seed oil content, moisture, and route (hot/cold) compares nothing. Factory pages publish residual-oil targets (~≤5% general; hot routes on some seeds 6-8% measured) precisely so buyers can audit the claim.
Practical levers
Route tradeoff
Heat lowers oil viscosity and opens cells, so hot routes leave less oil in cake (peanut hot 6-8% vs cold 8-10% is a typical spread). Cold pressing keeps a premium label but pays for it in residual oil and longer cycles (~2 h/barrel pure press). The right comparison is money per ton of seed: bulk price × hot yield versus premium price × cold yield, cake value included. Run both lines of arithmetic before choosing the machine class.

Project boundary
sesame Oil Yield should not be quoted from an equipment name alone. Check feed lots, target oil, post-press handling, and packing rhythm in one scope before deciding which Sesame Oil Press modules stay. Factory sesame hot: ~30 kg/batch with 6 partitions on 325; cold uses 355–500. Do not use peanut 100 kg barrel loads.
When feed condition, moisture, impurities, batch weight, and product position are unclear, press tonnage and filter area become guesswork. Factory systems share 60 MPa and 2.2 kW motors; hot pure press is 30–40 min/barrel and cold pure press is ~2 h/barrel — cycle time matters more than brochure tonnage.
Factory model check
Pin models to published factory specs before tonnage talk.
Hot 300/325: 300–325 ton, 60 MPa system, standard barrel Ø390×800 mm / max 100 kg, pure press 30–40 min/barrel, ~1.5 h for 2 barrels with loading, 2.2 kW motor. Cold 355/400/426/480/500: 370–630 ton, integrated frame, same 100 kg standard barrel, pure press ~2 h/barrel, ~4.5 h for 2 barrels with loading; optional Ø300 high-pressure barrel max 60 kg. Residual oil target ~≤5% (peanut hot often 6–8% measured).
Equipment check
Once the route is clear, write the interfaces: how preparation feeds the press, how oil leaves the press, how filtration connects to tanks, and how packing receives finished oil.
Record feed form, daily volume, moisture, and sorting needs so pretreatment is not left to operators.
Factory hot sesame lines often use pneumatic multi-layer paper filters; cold adds polish filtration and N₂. Match bottling to the ~25–40 min cycle at ~30 kg/batch.
Prepare space, power (often 380V/50Hz/3ph), labor, target package, local rules, and acceptance method before quotation.
A range, set by seed oil content and route. Audit any claim with cake residual: general hydraulic target ~≤5% residual, with hot routes lower than cold on the same lot. Ask for the assumed seed oil content behind any yield percentage you are quoted.
Physics is shared. Verified gains come from specifics you can inspect: barrel oil-discharge geometry (key-bar ~+2–3%), full pressure hold, and proper moisture management; no machine escapes those. Ask them to state cake residual on your seed, in writing.
Sometimes, at the cost of a second cycle and cake handling. On batch hydraulic lines it usually pays only when cake residual is well above target and the cake still crumbles for reloading. Fix moisture and heat first; re-press is the last lever.
