Loading method

The barrel is rated 100 kg; sesame loads 30

The Ø390×800 mm barrel takes up to 100 kg of coarse crushed feed, but fine sesame presses at about 30 kg per batch in 6 partitioned layers. The sections below explain why, and how to compute honest capacity from the number that is actually true.

Why 30 kg

Fine seed packs tight and traps its own oil

Hydraulic pressing works by letting oil escape through drainage paths inside the cake while pressure climbs on a 60 MPa system. Coarse crushed feed keeps those channels open even in a deep column, which is why the same Ø390×800 mm barrel is rated up to 100 kg for that kind of material. Sesame is different: the seed is tiny, the bed packs dense, and a deep column seals itself. The gauge still reads high, but the middle of the cake holds its oil. Cutting the charge to about 30 kg and splitting it into 6 partitioned layers keeps every layer thin enough for oil to travel a short path out.

  • Thin layers shorten the oil path; six partitions turn one deep column into six shallow cakes.
  • Pressure transmits more evenly through shallow layers, so the top and bottom of the barrel finish together.
  • Each layer lands near 5 kg, which one operator can weigh and level quickly between cycles.

Loading routine

A loading routine the whole shift can repeat

  1. Step 1

    Weigh 30 kg per barrel

Portion the cooled roasted seed into six charges of about 5 kg each before the press opens.

  2. Step 2

    Layer and partition

Load one charge, level it, set the partition, and repeat six times — uneven layers become uneven cakes.

  3. Step 3

    Pre-press 5–10 minutes

Let the bed consolidate and the first oil move before full pressure comes on.

  4. Step 4

    Main press 20–30 minutes

Hold through the main stage; the full cycle for a 30 kg sesame batch runs 25–40 minutes.

Capacity math

Compute capacity from 30 kg, not from the barrel rating

The most common sizing error in sesame projects is quoting daily output from the barrel's 100 kg rating — an overestimate of more than three times. Honest arithmetic starts at 30 kg per cycle: at 25–40 minutes per cycle, one press turns over roughly 45–72 kg of seed per hour of pure press time, before loading and cake discharge are added. At the 55–58% sesame hot-press yield reference, each barrel gives about 16.5–17.4 kg of oil. A three-press cell staggered against a 100 kg roaster keeps every machine loaded without idle gaps.

  • Per barrel: 30 kg of seed in, about 16.5–17.4 kg of oil out at the 55–58% reference.
  • Per press: 25–40 minutes per cycle; plan real shifts with loading, discharge, and cloth handling on top.
  • Per cell: 3 × 325 presses paired with a 100 kg-per-batch roaster is the hot-line reference configuration.
  • Power stays modest: each press runs a 2.2 kW motor, because the hydraulic system builds pressure slowly instead of spinning a screw.

Quote check

Three questions that expose a padded capacity quote

Which loading?

Ask whether the quoted daily output uses sesame's 30 kg fine-seed loading or the generic 100 kg barrel rating.

Which cycle?

A quote built on sesame cycles shorter than 25 minutes should explain which pressing stage it cut.

Which model line?

Hot-route sesame runs on 300/325 machines (300–325 ton); the 355–500 cold models (370–630 ton) belong to a different route and a different math.

What to confirm before scoping Sesame Fine-Seed Loading

Sesame Fine-Seed Loading should not be quoted from an equipment name alone. Check feed lots, target oil, post-press handling, and packing rhythm in one scope before deciding which Sesame Oil Press modules stay. Factory sesame hot: ~30 kg/batch with 6 partitions on 325; cold uses 355–500. Do not use peanut 100 kg barrel loads.

When feed condition, moisture, impurities, batch weight, and product position are unclear, press tonnage and filter area become guesswork. Factory systems share 60 MPa and 2.2 kW motors; hot pure press is 30–40 min/barrel and cold pure press is ~2 h/barrel — cycle time matters more than brochure tonnage.

  • Confirm whether feed is whole seed, kernels, pretreated material, or an existing semi-finished stream.
  • Confirm whether the target is crude oil, filtered oil, bottled oil, drum ingredient oil, or a refining handoff.
  • Hot cycle reference: pure press 30-40 min/barrel, ~1.5 h for 2 barrels with loading; cold pure press ~2 h/barrel, ~4.5 h for 2 barrels.
  • Confirm batch rhythm, labor, changeover, retained samples, power (often 380V/50Hz/3ph), and site install conditions.

Match hot / cold models to factory hard data

Pin models to published factory specs before tonnage talk.

Hot 300/325: 300–325 ton, 60 MPa system, standard barrel Ø390×800 mm / max 100 kg, pure press 30–40 min/barrel, ~1.5 h for 2 barrels with loading, 2.2 kW motor. Cold 355/400/426/480/500: 370–630 ton, integrated frame, same 100 kg standard barrel, pure press ~2 h/barrel, ~4.5 h for 2 barrels with loading; optional Ø300 high-pressure barrel max 60 kg. Residual oil target ~≤5% (peanut hot often 6–8% measured).

  • Standard barrel Ø390×800 mm, max ~100 kg crushed feed; optional Ø300 high-pressure barrel max ~60 kg.
  • Cylinder material 27SiMn; cold frames are integrated molded steel; hot frames are typically H-type channel steel.
  • Factory sesame hot: ~30 kg/batch with 6 partitions on 325; cold uses 355–500. Do not use peanut 100 kg barrel loads.

Equipment check

Process needs to land in equipment interfaces

Once the route is clear, write the interfaces: how preparation feeds the press, how oil leaves the press, how filtration connects to tanks, and how packing receives finished oil.

Front-end input

Record feed form, daily volume, moisture, and sorting needs so pretreatment is not left to operators.

Filtration and bottle rhythm

Factory hot sesame lines often use pneumatic multi-layer paper filters; cold adds polish filtration and N₂. Match bottling to the ~25–40 min cycle at ~30 kg/batch.

Delivery data

Prepare space, power (often 380V/50Hz/3ph), labor, target package, local rules, and acceptance method before quotation.

Questions on this page

Why does sesame load only 30 kg in a barrel rated for 100 kg?

The 100 kg rating applies to coarse crushed feed that keeps drainage channels open. Fine sesame packs dense, so a deep column traps oil in the cake core; about 30 kg in 6 thin layers lets the oil escape.

What do the six partitions actually change?

They split one deep column into six shallow cakes: the oil path gets shorter, pressure spreads evenly from top to bottom, and cake discharge comes out cleaner and more uniform.

How much oil does one sesame barrel give?

At the 55–58% hot-press reference, a 30 kg charge yields about 16.5–17.4 kg of oil over one 25–40 minute cycle.
